The reason I liked this photo is because it tells a story without having any captions in it. In my opinion she looks sad, like she is waiting for a call that isn't going to happen, or had a phone call that didn't end well. It is a type of photo that can be interpreted in a few ways.

Personally, I hate clowns so this photo wouldn't normally like photos like this. I don't know what really draws me to this photo, but just the way she did it, is very interesting. The way she is trying to change her looks and make herself look different is just a very unique technique. Another thing I like is all the color used throughout the piece.

This photo is also a very interesting photo to me. To others it may just be some photo of a woman, but it can tell a story if you just have an open mind to it. I like to think more in depth with the photos, like who is this woman, why does she have the facial expression she does, where did she come from, where is she going. There are many things you can wonder or learn from a photo if you just go more in depth with it.
Cindy Sherman was born in 1954 in New Jersey. She was the youngest of 5 children. She knew that she wouldn't be good at painting, so she decided to go with photography. After she graduated highschool, she went to New York to go after her career of art. In her loft, she started taking photos of herself. In each photo she plays a different role: a woman in tears, an actress, a housewife, things like that. She would take quite unique photos of dolls, and disturbing things. She wanted to portray that there may be ugly things, however there is a way to find beauty in everything.
